7-OH tablets are pressed tablets that contain a measured dose of 7-hydroxymitragynine (7-OH), a minor alkaloid from the kratom leaf, in concentrated form. Because one tablet holds far more 7-OH than you’d ever get from kratom powder, they’re much stronger and need to be treated with real care. This guide explains what’s in them, how they differ from kratom, how people use them responsibly, and where the law stands right now.
Key takeaways
- 7-OH is one alkaloid from kratom (Mitragyna speciosa). In natural leaf it makes up less than 2% of total alkaloids.
- A 7-OH tablet delivers a fixed, concentrated amount, usually measured in milligrams (our 007 tablets are 50mg each).
- Customers report that tablets feel stronger and come on faster than kratom powder.*
- Start low, wait at least four hours between tablets, and never mix 7-OH with alcohol, opioids or other sedatives.
- Federal rules are changing: the DEA has announced it intends to place concentrated 7-OH in Schedule I, with an order possible on or after November 13, 2026.
What exactly is 7-OH?
Kratom leaf contains dozens of alkaloids. The most abundant is mitragynine, the compound most kratom extracts are standardized to. 7-hydroxymitragynine is a much smaller part of the mix. The FDA has noted that 7-OH is present only in trace amounts in the leaf, and published references put it at under 2% of total alkaloid content.
Your body also makes a small amount of 7-OH on its own when it breaks down mitragynine in the liver. Commercial 7-OH, on the other hand, is concentrated well beyond anything found in the plant. Most of it is produced by processing kratom alkaloid extracts, which is why you’ll sometimes see it called “semi-synthetic.”

What’s in a 7-OH tablet?
A 7-OH tablet is simply 7-OH pressed into a solid tablet with binders so it holds its shape. The appeal is consistency: every tablet in a batch is meant to contain the same amount, so you aren’t guessing with scoops and scales the way you might with powder.
Our 50mg 007 tablets are our best seller. Each bar-shaped tablet contains 50mg of 7-OH. They’re $3.50 each with a minimum order of five, and you can buy larger counts if you want to stock up for a shop or a longer stretch.
Why the milligram number matters
With kratom powder, servings are measured in grams. With 7-OH, they’re measured in milligrams, because the compound is so much more concentrated. That means a small mistake in how much you take matters a lot more. Always read the strength on the label and confirm it with the batch lab report before you use a new product.
How do 7-OH tablets compare with kratom and powder?
Tablets vs kratom leaf
Kratom powder gives you the whole alkaloid profile of the leaf, with mitragynine doing most of the work. A 7-OH tablet isolates one compound and concentrates it. Customers report that tablets feel noticeably stronger and come on more quickly than leaf powder, and that the experience is “smoother” for some and “too much” for others.* Because of that strength, 7-OH isn’t a good starting point for anyone new to kratom.
Tablets vs 7-OH powder
7-OH powder is the same alkaloid in loose form. Powder is flexible, but you need an accurate milligram scale to measure it safely. Tablets do the measuring for you, which is why most customers prefer them. Browse every option in our 7-OH tablets collection.
What do customers say 7-OH tablets feel like?
We don’t make medical claims, and 7-OH is not approved to treat any condition. With that said, here is what customers commonly tell us:
- A calm, relaxed feeling*
- A sense of comfort and well-being*
- Effects that feel stronger than regular kratom powder*
- Faster onset than leaf powder*
Experiences vary a lot from person to person. Body weight, tolerance, food, and anything else in your system all play a role. Some people also report drowsiness, nausea, constipation or itching, especially at higher amounts.
Using 7-OH tablets responsibly
7-OH acts on the same receptors in the brain as opioids, and research has shown it can be habit-forming. That’s not a reason to panic, but it is a reason to be careful and honest with yourself. Our ground rules:
- Start low. If you’re trying a tablet for the first time, consider starting with a portion of one and waiting to see how you feel.
- Space it out. Don’t take more than one tablet every four hours.
- Don’t mix. Never combine 7-OH with alcohol, opioids, benzodiazepines, sleep aids or other sedating substances. Mixing sedatives is where the most serious risks come from.
- Take breaks. Daily use builds tolerance and can lead to dependence. Regular days off help keep things in check.
- Don’t drive or operate machinery until you know how it affects you.
- Adults 21+ only. Not for people who are pregnant or nursing. Talk to your doctor first if you take any prescription medication or have a health condition.
- Store safely. Keep tablets sealed, cool and dry, and out of reach of children and pets.
If you notice you need more to feel the same effect, or you feel unwell when you skip a day, take that as a sign to cut back and talk to a healthcare provider.
How to tell if a 7-OH tablet is legit
Because tablets are so concentrated, quality control matters more than with almost any other kratom product. Before you buy anywhere, check for:
- A recent certificate of analysis (COA) from an independent lab that matches the product and batch.
- A clear milligram strength per tablet on the label.
- Contaminant testing for heavy metals and microbes, not just potency.
- Age checks and clear warnings. A seller who doesn’t mention risks or age limits is a red flag.
Every batch we sell is third-party tested. You can view the reports on our lab tests page.
Are 7-OH tablets legal?
This is changing fast, so here is where things stand as of early November 2026.
Federal status
In July 2025, the FDA recommended that concentrated 7-OH products be scheduled under the Controlled Substances Act. On October 14, 2026, the DEA published a notice of intent to temporarily place 7-OH in Schedule I when a product contains more than 1mg per gram (solids) or 1mg per mL (liquids), or when the ratio of mitragynine to 7-OH is under 100 to 1. The DEA says the temporary order will be published on or after November 13, 2026 and takes effect on the day it’s published. Concentrated 7-OH tablets, including 50mg tablets, would be covered once that happens. Regular kratom leaf, which has a natural alkaloid balance, is not the target of this action.
State status
Many states already restrict 7-OH. We don’t ship 7-OH to California, Colorado, Florida, Kentucky, Mississippi, Ohio or Virginia, and we don’t ship any kratom or 7-OH to states that ban kratom outright. Some cities and counties have their own rules too. Our checkout applies these rules automatically, and our shipping by state page lists every state and the reason behind each rule. Customers in our home state can see details on our South Carolina page.

Frequently asked questions
Are 7-OH tablets the same as kratom pills?
No. Kratom pills or capsules usually contain ground kratom leaf, with its full natural alkaloid mix. 7-OH tablets contain concentrated 7-hydroxymitragynine, which is much stronger milligram for milligram.
How strong is a 50mg 7-OH tablet?
A 50mg tablet is a high-potency product meant for experienced adults. Customers report it feels much stronger than a typical serving of kratom powder.* If you’re new, start with a portion of a tablet and don’t take more than one tablet every four hours.
Can 7-OH be habit-forming?
Yes. 7-OH acts on opioid receptors, and regular use can lead to tolerance and dependence. Taking breaks, avoiding daily use and never mixing it with other sedatives all help reduce risk.
Is 7-OH going to be banned federally?
The DEA has announced it intends to temporarily place concentrated 7-OH in Schedule I, with an order that may be published on or after November 13, 2026. Once that order takes effect, concentrated 7-OH tablets would be federally controlled. Check our shipping page for the latest.
